Pantai Beringgis in Papar, Sabah

Papar, Sabah

Pantai Beringgis

A wide beach on Sabah's west coast, 25 km from Kota Kinabalu - coral reef at low tide, sunsets over the South China Sea, and Pasakon Beach right on its edge.

The beach that inspired the name Pasakon

Pantai Beringgis stretches along Kg. Beringgis, Papar, on the west coast of Sabah. The beach is wide and gently sloping; at low tide the coral reef and marine life are exposed along the shore, and that tidal rhythm is what inspired the name "Pasakon" - more than a destination, it is bound up with the life of the Kg. Beringgis community. Every evening the sun sets over the South China Sea directly in front of the beach.

Since 2019, Pasakon Beach has been run here by Koperasi Pelancongan Komuniti Kg. Beringgis Papar Berhad (PASAKON), with chalets, a campsite, a café, a prayer room and basic facilities for day visitors and overnight guests - about 25 km from Kota Kinabalu city centre and 20 km from KKIA.
